Therapy Services
Lymphedema Therapy
Lymphedema refers to swelling that generally occurs in one of your arms or legs. This condition can affect anyone, but is most commonly caused by the removal of the lymph nodes or damage to the lymphatic system. There is no cure for lymphedema, but with therapy, it can be controlled.
Occupational Therapy
Services for pediatric and adult patients include functional retraining to help you get back to your daily activity after an injury or illness. The therapist works with you to improve strength, flexibility, endurance and activity tolerance, with the goal of helping you become independent.
Physical Therapy
Whether you are recovering from a broken bone, muscle injury or surgery, regaining mobility, strength, flexibility and endurance are a key part of your recovery. Every individual has different goals and expectations in recovery, so rehabilitation specialists provide a customized plan that incorporates the unique goals and abilities of each person.
Dry Needling
Dry needling is a form of manual therapy, provided by physical therapists, in which a solid, fine filament needle is inserted into skin and muscles in order to promote healing. Some may describe dry needling as an aggressive form of massage, as it works in a similar manner as deep tissue techniques. Dry needling is used for patients with acute and chronic pain who were unable to get relief from less aggressive forms of therapeutic intervention.
Speech Therapy
Merit Health Natchez offers a variety of speech therapy services to adult and pediatric patients. The therapists are licensed by the State of Mississippi and certified by the American Speech Language-Hearing Association.
