Merit Health Natchez Begins Improvements to Hospital Exterior
4/5/2016
NATCHEZ, Miss. (April 6, 2016) – Merit Health Natchez will begin work Monday, April 11 on making improvements to the exterior of the hospital building. The project is expected to take four to six weeks to complete, and the end result will be a fresher, more seamless look to the exterior.
“Many of our capital expenditures over the last year were projects that relate to equipment and technology upgrades inside the hospital. While these are certainly necessary and beneficial to those we serve, these changes will be something our community will be proud of when they see the outside appearance of their hospital,” said Eric Robinson, Chief Executive Officer of Merit Health Natchez.
During the duration of the project, every effort will be made to minimize the impact on the traffic flow in the front of the hospital. Jason Lynch, Director of Facilities Management at the hospital said the improvements will include pressure washing the entire building, re-caulking windows where it is needed, repairing cracks in the bricks and ledges along the building, and painting selected areas of the building. “Our goal is to make the hospital appear seamless, as opposed to being able to notice the additions that were added on over the years,” said Lynch.
“We will have large pieces of equipment in place in the front of the hospital during the project and wanted to ensure our community that this was just one more additional improvement project on our campus,” said Robinson. “We appreciate the support of our board, employees, physicians and our community as we complete this work.”
As improvements are made around the hospital campus, some parking areas may be blocked for safety reasons. Merit Health Natchez will communicate clearly any changes during the project with signage.
