Hospital Welcomes Chief Nursing Officer

NATCHEZ, MS – Jennifer Vercher, R.N., MSN, has been named chief nursing officer at Merit Health Natchez. “We are excited to have Jennifer join our leadership team,” said Kevin Samrow, chief executive officer of Merit Health Natchez. “She brings valuable insight, experience and proven accomplishments in the areas of nursing during her professional career.”
Jennifer brings more than 19 years of nursing experience, with the majority of those years spent in nursing leadership roles. She has a proven record of success with implementing performance improvement initiatives, driving patient experience and nursing recruitment and retention.
A native of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Jennifer has held director level nursing positions in the areas of ortho, neuro, med surg, telemetry, pre-operative and post-anesthesia care units; rehabilitation services; wound care; and inpatient rehabilitation. She most recently served as assistant chief nursing officer.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing, as well as a master's in nursing from William Carey University in Biloxi, Mississippi.
“My husband and I are truly excited to be back in the State of Mississippi,” said Jennifer. “We love Natchez and consider it a perfect location to be near to our family, including new grandchildren. I am privileged and honored to be in this role, and I look forward to meeting the physicians and employees in the coming weeks, as well as exploring our new community.”
